  1. The Annual Health Fair was a well attended event. Throughout the 8-hour day, many different women stopped by the LLLRC table.

Some of the women who really stood out included a mother of quadruplets who nursed her Four babies for Four Months! (She wished she had nursed them longer but she was just too tired. Well, yeah!! 4 babies at once--wow! I was exhausted  with one baby at a time!) We told her what a wonderful thing she'd done getting her quadruplets off to such a wonderful start in life!

There were some young, unmarried women who visited us and picked up the Breastfeefing Guides we had available. They told us they had heard how good breastfeeding is for babies and that they planned to breastfeed when they begin their families.

Many woman long past the breastfeeding phase of their lives, came to the table to reminisce about the days when they had babes in arms and to recall wistfully their happy nursing memories. One of these woman announced that she had attended La Leche League meetings 48 years ago in Los Angeles! That would have been only two years after LLL began holding meetings in So. California because this 2011 is the SC/NV Area's Fiftieth Anniversary!

It was a day well spent at Cerro Coso College's Gymnasium helping make La Leche League of Ridgecrest's presence and services known to the community. If you stopped by our table to say hello, we thank you for your ongoing support! ~j.
